Hi, I’m Nicole - a primary school teacher by day, with a love for all things health and fitness and a passion for eating the rainbow and baking simple, healthier treats. I love living an active life and I’m also a proud mummy to my two gorgeous French bulldogs Poki & Piggy! I live by the saying ‘Happy Is the New Healthy’ and love being able to share my own recipes and health & wellness tips on my Instagram page nickyward86.

 

MY BACKGROUND:

I am incredibly fortunate to have grown up with a mother who loved food and cooking, so our household was always filled with the delicious smells of home cooking. She taught me from a very young age that to nourish our bodies from the inside out is possibly the best thing we can ever do for ourselves. Mum taught me how to cook and eat healthy, veggie packed meals and she is the reason I have such a passion for health, wellness and nutrition today. I‘ve also found that eating in this way helps me feel my very best and achieve my fitness goals. I love being able to motivate, inspire and empower people to be the best version of themselves and hope to show everyone that what we put in our bodies can either nourish or harm us. Thanks to my loving upbringing I know that a love for health and nutrition begins at a young age and that if we start to make positive changes now, we can create a happier and healthier future for many generations to come.

 

Personally, I try to nourish my body everyday by fuelling it with as much healthy, unprocessed and nutrient-dense food as possible. I do this by making my own food wherever possible and shopping at my local farmer’s markets is also incredibly important to me as I can load up on a rainbow of fruit and vegetable goodness. Having recently moved into my own house, I love being able to grow many of my own fruit and veggies as well. As much as I believe in choosing wholefoods wherever possible, I also believe in snacking and treating myself regularly. When opting for packaged snacks I always ensure to read the nutrition labels so I know exactly what is in them and choose ones with nutrient dense ingredients, like those in Sneaky Wholefoods. Oat bowls, smoothies and smoothie bowls would have to be my absolute favourite ways to supercharge my post workout snacks. They are such an easy, tasty and versatile way to pack in a load of extra nutrients and superfoods. I love topping mine with loads of fresh fruit and crumbled superfood bars, such as those from Sneaky Wholefoods!
