These Puffed Cinnamon Twisted Knots are so simple to throw together, and the best twist in making them is... there's no need to make your own pastry.
Using puffed pastry and our Spiced Cinnamon Better Being Base the only extra's you need are 3 ingredients found in your fridge and pantry at home.
Eat them while they're WARM.
INGREDIENTS:
3 Sheets Puff Pastry
1/3 cup Brown / Coconut Sugar
2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
40g Butter / Nuttelex, melted
Cinnamon Coating:
2 tbsp Sugar / Powdered Sweetener
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
METHOD:
Preheat the oven to 180ºc. Line a baking tray with baking paper or use a 12-hole muffin tray.
Thaw puffed pastry, so it is workable, set aside
In a small bowl, whisk together the Better Being Base, brown sugar and cinnamon.
Brush all sheets of puff pastry with the butter and sprinkle the cinnamon base mix over the top of one in an even layer. Place the another sheet of puff pastry on top and repeat.
Cut the pastry into 8-12 equal strips. Working one strip at a time, twist a strip of puff pastry, then roll it in on itself tucking the outer end of dough under the pastry.
Transfer twisted knots onto baking tray or muffin tin. Repeat with the remaining puff pastry strips.
Bake until the twisted knots in oven 25-30 minutes (depending on size) until golden and cooked through.
While baking, in a small bowl, whisk together the sugar/ sweetener and cinnamon together.
Once knots are baked and removed from oven and allow to cool slightly for 2-3 minutes, before dipping them into the cinnamon coating.
Enjoy warm
