What Are Sneaky Seconds?
Sneaky Seconds are our imperfectly perfect assortment of small to large-sized pieces and offcuts from our range of bars and bites that didn't quite make the standard bar or bite size but are just as delicious and nutritious. Think of them as the same high-quality, plant-based protein bars, bites, and mixes you know and love, just with a little extra personality.
How Sneaky Seconds Started
Back in the early days of Sneaky Wholefoods, I used to take home the little offcuts from packing days. My now-husband and I would snack on them after work, loving them just as much as our regular bars and bites. Honestly? It was a win-win, we got to enjoy our creations while keeping food waste down.
As our snack range and production grew, so did the piles of these offcuts. I remember telling my Steph about them in early 2020 when her Better Being Collection was growing. She asked if I could send her a pouch, which she later shared with her community online… and the response was overwhelming. People wanted them and they wanted them fast!
The Birth of Sneaky Seconds
In September 2020, we decided to launch Sneaky Seconds online. We bagged up the offcuts in simple kraft pouches, slapped on a sticker and shared them with our community. Just like that, Sneaky Seconds were born and they quickly became our #1 best-seller every single month.
Since then, Sneaky Seconds have evolved. Last year, we gave them a proper home with branded packaging celebrating the idea of being imperfectly perfect. Fun fact: when our first round of packaging arrived, there was a slight error in the design — the pattern was cut off on the front! At first, I was devastated, but then I laughed. It was a perfect reminder that perfection isn’t necessary to create something people truly love.
